Facebook Ads Benchmarks India 2026: CPM, CTR & ROAS

Generic Meta Ads benchmarks are nearly useless for Indian D2C personal care brands. A beauty brand running ads in Tier 1 cities faces different auction dynamics than a grooming brand targeting Tier 2 and Tier 3 India. Here are India-specific personal care benchmarks that actually reflect what you are competing against.

Reading the Numbers

What the Quarterly Patterns Mean for Planning

Q1 is your most efficient prospecting quarter. Post-festive demand is stable, competition from other advertisers has normalised, and CPMs are at their annual low. Build your warm retargeting audiences during Q1 at low cost — those audiences become the basis for efficient festive-season retargeting in Q4.

Q4 retargeting ROAS (5.2 to 9.8x) is high for a reason. You are converting buyers who have been in your funnel for 6 to 8 weeks of awareness building. The Q4 retargeting efficiency is a compounding return on Q1 to Q3 prospecting investment — not a standalone metric.

Festive prospecting ROAS (1.8 to 2.9x) looks weak. It is. You are paying peak-season CPMs to reach cold audiences during the most competitive auction period of the year. Brands that use Q4 budget primarily for prospecting are paying the highest prices for the lowest-intent audiences.

If your brand is in premium skincare or women's fashion: IPL-period and heavy sporting calendar targeting is misaligned with your audience. Stay at standard spend during IPL; increase budget in Q3 for festive awareness building instead.

Diagnosing Underperformance

When Your Numbers Fall Below the Quarterly Benchmark

If your Q2 personal care Meta Ads performance is significantly below the benchmark range, rule out these three structural issues before touching creative or audience settings.

Attribution window mismatch: Ensure you are comparing 7-day click only data to the benchmarks provided. If your account is still on 7-day click plus 1-day view, your reported ROAS will look higher than the benchmark even if actual performance is lower.

Audience saturation: In Tier 1 cities with narrow targeting, personal care advertisers can reach audience frequency of 8 to 12 within a 2-week period during Q2 when summer demand drives advertiser competition. Check your frequency in the Delivery column. Above 6 within a 7-day window indicates creative fatigue regardless of creative quality. Broaden the audience first, then evaluate creative performance.

Landing page and mobile experience: Personal care purchases in India are predominantly completed on mobile. A landing page that loads above 3 seconds on a mid-range Android device loses approximately 40% of mobile visitors before they engage with the content. Run a PageSpeed Insights check on your product landing page on a throttled mobile connection. Fixing a 4.8-second load time to 2.1 seconds can improve conversion rate by 20 to 35% more than most creative tests will achieve.

"Your Meta Ads cost is not random. It follows seasonal patterns, category dynamics, and competitive cycles. Know the pattern and you can plan for it."
