AI Agents for Marketing: What They Do, Use Cases and Tools (2026)
An AI marketing agent is software that takes a marketing goal, gathers the data it needs, decides the next step and carries it out, such as shortlisting creators, forecasting a campaign return or checking how AI engines describe a brand, with a person approving the work that matters.

In short
Nurdd builds AI agents for marketing teams, with three separate products: Nia, an AI-native creative studio; Noma, for AI search visibility; and Pulse, for paid media intelligence.
It also offers managed services and builds custom AI agents.
What is an AI marketing agent?
A marketing tool waits for you to click. An AI agent is given a job and works through it: it reads the data, picks the next step, does the work and reports back. The useful ones stay inside limits a person sets and ask before they spend money or publish anything.
How an agent works
Goal
A person sets the goal and the limits: the brief, the budget, the brand rules and what needs approval.
Gather
The agent pulls the data the job needs, such as creator profiles, ad account results or AI engine answers.
Decide and act
It chooses the next step and does it: shortlists, forecasts, drafts or flags, within the limits it was given.
Report
It shows what it did and why, and waits for approval on anything that spends money or goes live.
Use cases
Four marketing jobs agents take on, and how Nurdd does each one.
Influencer discovery and vetting
An agent searches creator profiles against a brief, scores audience quality and flags accounts whose followers look inflated, so a person reviews a shortlist instead of scrolling profiles.
How Nurdd does it
Nurdd finds influencers in Nia, which searches 10M+ creator profiles across Instagram and other platforms by niche, audience quality, engagement authenticity and brand match score. Each shortlisted creator is scored with TruAI, the fake follower detection built into Nia, before a rate is agreed, and Nia forecasts the expected return before anyone is briefed.
The fake follower checker estimates fake or inactive followers for a public Instagram account from its engagement, as a 0–100 authenticity score. It never sees the follower list, so treat it as a first check.
Campaign ROI forecasting
An agent projects what a budget is likely to return before money is committed, then matches sales back to the creator or campaign that drove them once it runs.
How Nurdd does it
Nurdd forecasts creator campaign ROI before any spend and measures it after. Nia returns a projected revenue range with confidence scores from your budget, then attributes product-level sales to each creator through the Nurdd SDK. For paid social, Nurdd sets targets from your break-even ROAS, judges results against published category benchmarks, and reports monthly.
The influencer ROI calculator projects revenue and ROAS from a creator budget.
AI search visibility
An agent asks AI engines the questions your buyers ask, records whether your brand is named and which pages are cited, and turns the gaps into a list of fixes.
How Nurdd does it
Nurdd measures AI search visibility in Noma (nomahq.app), which tracks 13 AI engines, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, and records whether a brand is named and which page each citation comes from. Through its AEO and GEO services, Nurdd then improves the site and content those engines read, and works to earn the third-party sources they cite.
Noma, self-serve at nomahq.app, from $79 a month ($65 billed annually) with a 3-day free trial: a card is taken at signup and nothing is charged if you cancel before day 3. The AEO and GEO services are scoped per brand and include a Noma seat.
AI agents vs automation
Automation runs the rule you wrote. An agent works towards the goal you set. Most teams use both: automation for the fixed steps, agents for the work that needs judgement.
| Compared on | Automation | AI agent |
|---|---|---|
| What you give it | Fixed steps: when X happens, do Y. | A goal and limits, such as a budget, a brief or a list of prompts to track. |
| How it decides | It follows the rule exactly, every time. | It reads the data in front of it and chooses the next step. |
| When things change | It breaks or keeps running the old rule until someone edits it. | It adjusts within the limits it was given and reports what it changed. |
| Where it fits | Repeatable jobs with one right answer, such as sending a report or tagging a lead. | Jobs that need judgement over messy data, such as vetting creators or reading why ROAS moved. |
| What a person does | Builds and maintains the rules. | Sets the goal, reviews the output and approves what goes live. |
How to evaluate an agent
Checks to run before you buy, on any vendor, including us.
| 01Name the job | Write down the one task you want off your plate and what a good result looks like. An agent that claims to do everything is hard to test. |
|---|---|
| 02Check where the data comes from | Ask which sources it reads, how fresh they are and whether it uses official platform APIs or public data. Its output is only as good as its inputs. |
| 03See the reasoning | A useful agent shows why it made a call: the creator it rejected and why, or the page an AI engine cited. Avoid tools that only give a score. |
| 04Keep a person in the loop | Confirm what it can do on its own and what waits for your approval, especially anything that spends money or publishes in your name. |
| 05Measure in revenue terms | Ask how it ties its work to sales, ROAS or pipeline rather than reach or activity counts. |
| 06Test on your own brand | Run it on your category, competitors and accounts during a trial or demo, not on a vendor sample. |
| 07Read the price and the contract | Check whether the price is published, whether a sales call is required and how long you are committed. The tools table below shows this where vendors publish it. |

Frequently asked questions
What is an AI agent in marketing?
An AI marketing agent is software that takes a marketing goal, gathers the data it needs, decides the next step and carries it out, such as shortlisting creators, forecasting a campaign return or checking how AI engines describe a brand, with a person approving the work that matters.
How is an AI agent different from marketing automation?
Automation follows fixed rules that a person writes and maintains. An AI agent is given a goal and limits, reads the data in front of it and chooses the next step, then reports what it did. Automation suits repeatable jobs with one right answer; agents suit jobs that need judgement over messy data.
What can AI agents do for a marketing team?
Common jobs are finding and vetting influencers, forecasting campaign return before spend, optimising paid social on Meta and Google Ads, and tracking whether AI engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude name a brand and which pages they cite.
Does Nurdd make AI agents for marketing?
Yes. Nurdd builds AI agents for marketing teams, with three separate products: Nia, an AI-native creative studio; Noma, for AI search visibility; and Pulse, for paid media intelligence. It also offers managed services and builds custom AI agents.
How much do AI marketing agents cost?
It depends on the tool. Noma starts at $79 a month, or $65 billed annually, with a 3-day free trial that takes a card at signup. Nia is priced below comparable plans. Entry prices for other tools, as each vendor publishes them, are in the tools table on this page.
Will an AI agent replace my marketing team?
An agent takes on research, monitoring and first drafts, but a person still sets the goal, reviews the output and approves anything that spends money or publishes in the brand name. Check what an agent can do without approval before you buy it.
