Influencer Pricing India 2026: Benchmarks by Tier

Reel and feed rates in 2026 run roughly Rs 1,500 to 10,000 for nano creators at 5K to 30K followers, Rs 8,000 to 45,000 for micro at 30K to 200K, and Rs 40,000 to 2,50,000 for macro at 200K to 1M. Story sets and dedicated YouTube price separately, and identical followings routinely quote 400% apart.
Two creators with identical follower counts in the same category can quote rates that differ by 400%. Without benchmarks, brands overpay, creators undersell, and negotiation is a guessing game. Here are benchmarks based on actual campaign data across Indian D2C categories.

Rate Benchmarks by Tier
What Each Tier Costs in 2026
Tier | Followers | Reel / Feed Post | Story Set (3 stories) | Dedicated YouTube |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Nano | 5K – 30K | Rs 1,500 – 10,000 | Rs 500 – 3,000 | N/A |
Micro | 30K – 200K | Rs 8,000 – 45,000 | Rs 3,000 – 12,000 | Rs 12,000 – 60,000 |
Macro | 200K – 1M | Rs 40,000 – 2,50,000 | Rs 15,000 – 60,000 | Rs 60,000 – 5,00,000 |
Mega | 1M+ | Rs 1,50,000 – 15,00,000 | Highly negotiated | Highly negotiated |
Nano creators in non-monetised niches will often accept product gifting without a cash fee for a first collaboration. The upper end of nano pricing applies to creators with very high engagement rates (above 7%) in commercial categories like beauty, fitness, and food.
Within the micro tier, a creator with 60,000 followers and 6.2% engagement in D2C fitness commands significantly more than one with 180,000 followers and 0.9% engagement. Follower count is a poor proxy for pricing — engagement rate and category specificity matter more.
Category Multipliers
How Niche Changes the Rate
Category | Rate Multiplier | Reason |
|---|---|---|
Finance and investment | 1.5x – 2.0x | High-income audience, compliance requirements limit competition |
Tech and gadgets | 1.2x – 1.6x | High audience trust in creator product reviews |
Fitness and health | 1.1x – 1.4x | Strong purchase intent audiences |
Skincare and beauty | 1.0x (standard) | High creator competition keeps rates efficient |
Parenting and family | 0.8x – 1.1x | Lower commercial saturation |
What Rates Include — and What They Don't
The Hidden Costs to Negotiate Upfront
The quoted rate almost always includes: content creation, one round of revisions, and posting on their primary platform.
It usually does not include:
Whitelisting rights: running creator content as a paid ad from your account. Typically adds 30 to 50%.
Extended usage rights beyond 90 days: adds 20 to 30%.
Exclusivity in your product category: adds 25 to 60% depending on duration.
Additional platforms: each platform is a separate negotiation.
A Rs 20,000 Reel fee can become Rs 35,000 once whitelisting and 6-month usage rights are added. Negotiate these variables explicitly before agreeing to any rate.

Negotiating the Rate
How to Negotiate Without Damaging the Relationship
Most creators quote a rate with room to negotiate. Most D2C founders do not negotiate because they are uncertain about benchmarks or worried about damaging a relationship they have not yet started.
The cleanest way to negotiate: anchor to past campaign performance data. "We would love to work with you. Based on campaigns in our category, we are targeting a cost per sale of Rs X. At your quoted rate, that requires approximately Y purchases from your audience. Does your past sponsored content typically drive that level of purchase intent?" This frames the conversation around shared ROI goals rather than a back-and-forth on a number.
If the creator cannot or will not provide past campaign performance data Story swipe-up rates, link click data, any signal of purchase intent from past brand collaborations treat the rate as higher-risk and negotiate accordingly.
Walk-away triggers: A creator who is unwilling to share any past performance data, insists on payment before content approval, or cannot provide a rate justification beyond follower count is asking for trust you have not been given reason to extend. These are the partnerships most likely to produce high spend and low incremental sales.
"The creator who quotes the highest rate is not always the most expensive. Read the usage rights clause before you agree to anything."
